This silk screen print is the reproduction of a 8 x 10” Polaroid negative of the role portrait “Gwen John” (based on her self-portrait from 1900) from the series “Vorbilder” (“role models”). In this work group Irene Andessner restaged herself in the roles of paintresses from four centuries in video and photographic works.
